My Christmas wish this year is to get as many people as possible to send CYBER HUGS to 3 of the most admirable women I know. My friends, April, Sarah and Amy.
These 3 incredible women are foreign missionaries to Papua New Guinea, India and Guatemala.
Raising a family and serving in full time ministry is hard. Raising a family and serving in full time ministry on the OPPOSITE side of the world from where you grew up is REALLY hard.
Being away from family and loved ones is hard. Being away from family and loved ones at CHRISTMAS TIME is REALLY hard.
These 3 women have traded busy sidewalks dressed in holiday cheer for the chance to help others. They have given up their cultural traditions in order to love the needy. Would you please take JUST A MINUTE to drop them a COMMENT below? A hug, a word of encouragement, a THANK YOU for their sacrifices?
Even if you don't read this until after Christmas... PLEASE HELP ME shower them with love?
I put together these little collages to give you a snapshot of their ministries.
First let me introduce you to April, missionary to PNG.

I met April at a local youth group gathering when I was around 17 years old. We have a special history together of late nights watching Speed, road trips to Boston, video taping our own fashion shows, and making up dance routines to D.C. Talk. We were Maid-of-Honor in each other's weddings and she and her husband are the guardians of our kids if anything should ever happen to us. Basically I'd throw myself in front of a bus for her. I just love her.

Since the day I met her, she has been the most compassionate person I've ever personally met. Driven to serve the Lord regardless of how hard it may be. She and her husband and 3 beautiful kids have been serving in the jungles of PNG since 2003. To read more about them, please check out their blog!
Now please meet my friend Sarah, missionary to India.

I've never had the privilege of personally meeting Sarah, but I consider it an honor to have worked with her a tiny bit over the years towards fund raising for her incredible ministry with abandoned, handicapped children in India.
She and her beautiful family make such amazing sacrifices in order to serve the least fortunate. I call her the modern day Mother Teresa. She amazes me with her unparalleled raw honesty about the ups and downs of missionary work. She gives and loves and serves and is truly the hands and feet of Jesus.

And lastly, please meet my friend Amy, missionary to Guatemala.

I first met Amy about 12 years ago in an online group of moms waiting for their adopted kids to come home. She has a gentleness and warmth that immediately endeared her to me and we've been friends ever since. She and husband have 4 biological kids and 5 adopted kids and, up until a couple of years ago, they were living happily ever after in Texas. But along came God and upset the applecart in a major way! Amy's family felt led to sell their house and most of their belongings, uproot the family and move to Guatemala to serve orphans! I thought she was inspiring before, but this blew my socks off!

So... this is my Christmas wish. Will you PLEASE help me out??
